A 1,500 m / 4,920 ft horizontal well was drilled in a multilayered limestone reservoir with poor vertical permeability and a permeability range of only 0.2–0.9 mD. The newly drilled well was to be directly compared with nearby offset wells completed with standard acid matrix stimulation, and the operator needed a solution that could clearly outperform these conventional wells over the long term.
The well was completed with a 4½” Fishbones Jetting system. Forty Fishbones Jetting subs, each equipped with four needles, provided a total of 160 branches distributed with even spacing along the horizontal section. This configuration enabled uniform and efficient reservoir penetration across the entire drain, significantly improving contact with the tight carbonate rock.

Substantial initial uplift
During the first five days of production testing, the well delivered an uplift of around 300% compared to the conventional offset wells, clearly demonstrating the immediate impact of the Fishbones Jetting completion.
Sustained long-term performance
Over more than five years of production, the well maintained strong performance with around six times higher production rates than the offset wells, confirming the long-term value of the technology and the robustness documented in several SPE papers.
Scalable field development
On the back of these sustained results, the operator awarded a contract for multiple additional wells..
